An exceptional find. A really lovely and welcoming B&B. The room was cosy and immaculate. The full English breakfast was excellent. I really couldn't recommend this place enough for someone wanting a quiet stay in Totnes.
Mike and Julie - who have owned the ancient building for only a year - have worked a miracle. The room was delightful, the garden is huge and gorgeous. Breakfast was the best of any B&B we stayed in while in England. Totnes is a delightful destination with delicious bakeries, cheese stores and restaurants. Highly recommended. Unlike other B&Bs there is ample public space indoors and out.
Stayed 2018-09. Magical place. Excellent accommodation for 2 + newborn (3 month old). Fresh apples and blueberries growing in the garden you can walk out into - while inside the room is super modern plush bed and fantastic bathroom (with an electronically controlled shower!). Cot provided and very easy access to the property (Totnes in general is very pram-friendly). The room bedding and bathroom was as good as a high-spec Marriott - and everything outside of the room had a wonderful personal charm to it. The breakfast felt personal and was nice (Crepes get our vote as the best meal) - with fruits also available from the taking - some fresh from the garden on property. 10-15 minute walk from the town's main road.Very comfortable while feeling as personal as you'd like it to be - best of all worlds - highly recommended!Re the noise mentioned in other reviews: It was perfectly quiet for us throughout the evening and night (no ambient noise/road traffic/noise from other rooms). During the day you might hear someone going into/out of the garden periodically but nothing significant or that disrupted the baby sleeping. Perhaps the previous issues were rectified before we came (September 2018).
Our second visit. Excellent location and hospitality by Julie & Mike who have carried out much refurbishment since last year. Perfect base for visiting lovely Totnes and vicinity. They are always helpful in suggesting places to visit and eat and have discount deals with several restaurants. Pretty garden/patio for sitting out. Own parking and a short walk to the town centre.
