I bought a pot of crab pate to take home with me-I live in Oxford. When I got home I noticed the pate was way out of date. I bought it on a Friday and the 'use by date' was for the Wednesday before and I noticed the date on the following Monday. I called Ben's Shop owner and explained- he was less than apologetic to be honest, his first response was, "Well I can't do anything about it now", after a while I fell silent and he eventually issued an apology. I informed the owner of the day it was bought and my daughter-in-law used her loyalty card but he thought it would be difficult to could track down the purchase as I didn't have a receipt. I took a photo of the pate and sent it to my daughter-in-law for proof.The pate is not cheap at 6-7 a tub.I have had to leave it to my daughter-in-law who lives in Totnes, to sort out. I am still uncertain as to whether she has managed to get a refund. Not a great experience.
Great quality foods and fresh organic produce. A little pricey but good value.
