Limited amenities, poorly maintained but in a good situation close to the sea,Dartmoor and other local attractions

Great holiday park. Very clean.

Interestingly, there are no reviews other than mine from those who have purchased a holiday home from this firm. It is so easy to jot down a few happy experiences from a very short stay holiday on Haulfryn /Devon Hills holiday park. These holiday parks are not regulated by government rules but, by a tiny firm named NCC. National Caravan Council. In other words, likened to a one-man band with the holiday park acting like a law unto themselves. Middle aged people from outside of Devon and Cornwall and tourist arriving by coach in commercial Torbay are usually drawn in by the scenery and end up sadly paying for these holiday homes. Torbay Council has given these parks their licence. Every Council profit from local businesses whether good or badThe holiday home owners on their parks know that the managers have lived in a lot of the brand-new lodges that are up for sale 'as new' to you. If you are interested in purchasing, the sales team on the park do not want you to hire a conveyance team. They will give you a lot of waffle as to why you should not need a conveyancer. Once your cooling off period is up, you will notice a change in their attitude towards you. Like, when the park is snowed in and the park has no grit salt around the home owners lodge but near the holiday makers rental lodge and employers lodge. Some of the managers live on the parks. Homeowners rent them out by handing over their keys to the holiday park who will find you a tenant. Both you and the park will profit. Another problem you will face when you purchase a lodge, you will have the usual maintenance issue. You are left to deal with the matter yourself by contacting the manufactures. The park has a contracted duty of care to handle these issues by contacting the manufactures. Or, when you decide that you want to sell up and invite an estate agent onto the park to market it for you. This park will not be best pleased. They may even interfere. When you have an interested buyer, that buyer must sit inside the holiday park office filling out the agreement form with the park sales officer. The sales officer has a duty to sale off some of their unwanted stock. I have an email, it confirms that the park has a duty -I would call it, under cut you by the sales team offering your buyer a much cheaper but identical lodge. By interfering with the estate agents, this park wants to take over this deal and offer you almost half of what you paid for. Once you have decided that you want to sell up, the park will advise you that your lodge has depreciated by say 20-30,000 in that year. In my case, I was informed mine had done so by 20, 000 in two months. No property devalues that quick. They will begin by describing it as a car. None of this was stated in writing, just verbal. It is sales psychology to brain wash you to believing what they were advising. That way, they can convince you to accept a much lower price for your holiday lodge. Problem is, according to the NACO National Association of Caravan Owners, because these parks are not regulated, they can re sale your holiday lodge for whatever price. Possibly more than what you originally paid for. So much for your home depreciating. A friend who works on one of the local parks in the south west has informed me that, such parks are more interested in those visiting there on holiday days than those who have now purchased a holiday home. If you are still keen to purchase one of these holiday homes, then protect yourself by taking out a loan with the park. That way you will have the financial support of the Financial Ombudsman. Ideally update your local MP. Advise the Financial Conduct of your concerns too. On the 16 December 2017 I paid 60,000 Devon Hills . A month later i wanted to sell up. Devon Hills made me a verbal offer of 40,000 as they felt the lodge had depreciated by 20,000. I refused. I was delaying my my hysterectomy operation and house buying. In September 2018, Devon Hills sent me an email offering to buy back my holiday home with 19,000 . A few days later, their final offer was 30,000

A great place to stay.

Great place for family, good pub, good food and peaceful surroundings.
